WordPress has been thoughtful enough to provide templates to help start off, which is super handy as this is my first time using a site like this, so here we go.
Tell us why you’re here
- I am here to share knowledge and information which I have benefited from, and which I hope others may benefit from too.
- While I have imagined that this may be an alternative path to my already fulfilling career, my intention is not to make this my ‘job’ and I view this as more of a hobby and creative outlet.
What are you about?
- My Family; I have an amazing wife and and even more amazing daughter. I strive to always provide them with the best example I am currently capable of producing.
- My Yoga practice; I have found tremendous benefit from incorporating a daily regiment in my life, which I tailor my life around, and is not something that make time for.
- Reading; I no longer have any desire to watch t.v. or movies (media) and much prefer to spend my time reading. I have become a “regular” at my library, which if you told me this 5 years ago, I would have laughed in your face.
- Building; I love to make things with my hands, for my home, for my family and friends, I just love to make things and figure out how to make things work.
Why should they read your blog?
- You should ready my blog, as you may learn something that you didn’t know before, and as a result, you may end up becoming a little better than you were before.
- Everyone in this world has their own unique perspective and when I realized that 2 people can sit through the same external influence, but their own experiences and life has shaped the way that process that influence, I realized that everything is a choice, and by choosing the way I react, I can radically change my life, and you can too if you want, its all a choice.
Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
- I am blogging publicly to share information which I have benefited from. I actively keep up with 3 personal journals daily; to practice writing with my non-dominant hand and to reinforce positive affirmations. My personal ‘diary’ which I use to to write to myself, to understand myself, to work things out for myself and my reading journal, which I use to capture quotes and wonderful imagery and takeaways from the books I read.
What topics do you think you’ll write about?
- I see myself mostly writing about the good books I read. I hope the books that I recommend will expose people to the works which I have enjoyed and which they may not have otherwise been exposed to. I have no intention of criticizing any of the books which do not strike a chord with me, as I understand that just because I do not enjoy something, does not make it bad, its just not for me.
- I plan to share the projects that I build, with the intention of inspiring others to try and build and make things. I find this an incredibly rewarding hobby, especially in the throw-away society which makes this wonderful machine of our economy churn. Just because something fails to work, does not mean it needs to go in the trash, because I can buy another on Amazon for a little more than peanuts, and more often than not, because I can afford to. When I see something in my home which I have built from nothing, it means more to me than if I went to a store to buy it, and further inspires me to make more.
Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
- I would like to connect with people. People with similar interests, people with different interests, just people. I know everyone in this world knows something that I do not know, and has a different perspective which if I do not take into consideration, I limit myself from growing.
If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
- I am doing this for myself and not for anyone or anything else, and since I have already taken the first step, I am already on the path, so while at this time I do not know my destination, I fully believe that the further down the path I reach, the more apparent my destination will be to me. In the mean time, I am looking forward to this new journey!
I am very proud of you for taking the first step Mr. Lall. I wish you the best of lucks in this new journey and I hope to keep learning from you.
